Keeping Boys in School
Jun 21, 2012Yahoo News -- Attorney and author Lisa Bloom (Swagger: 10 Urgent Rules for Raising Boys in an Era of Failing Schools, Mass Joblessness and Thug Culture) discusses why boys are failing in school, offering parents three tips to encourage their education: end their overconfidence or "swagger"; get them reading and end the idea that books are "girly"; and get them thinking college early. As Ms. Bloom points our, America ranks 25th in math but 1st in confidence.
