College Degree Creates Upward Mobility
Jun 27, 2012New York Times – The US Treasury Department has released a report titled The Economic Case for Higher Education that outlines the advantages postsecondary education brings to every economic class. Research indicates that children born to parents in the bottom 20% of wage earners have an 80% chance of moving up the economic ladder with a college degree, while they have a 65% chance of staying there without one. However, the report also shows that children of parents in the upper 20% are also likely to outearn their parents if they get a college degree.
