Growth of Online Classes and Blended Education

Nov 14, 2011

Ed Week – Online learning is growing quickly at elementary, junior high and high-school levels, according to a report released at the Virtual School Symposium. Some districts are offering programs within their districts only, while others are pooling their resources to serve several districts simultaneously. Student enrollment in online courses increased 19% from 2009-10 to 2010-11. Most courses are blended, combining traditional (onsite) and online materials.
