College Students Say They Want More Technology in the ClassroomNov 02, 2011
US News & World Report – Educause, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the use of information technology in higher education, has released its 2011 National Study of Undergraduate Students and Information Technology and found that students are eager for professors to use more technology in the classroom. Among the tools they’d like to see professors incorporate in the classroom are e-textbooks, online forums, and presentation software, such as PowerPoint or Prezi. Sixty-five percent of students at colleges with online programs have taken those courses, though only 30% found them as good as traditional classes. Students say they prefer onsite classes that blend online and high-tech elements. For more, read Survey Highlights How Technology Is Used in Higher Education.
